    a novel for the bored.

Saturday, GS and I splashed by 9am and it was as if i forgot how to fish and nothing was going right. forgot my camera, my go pro was not working, fish finder didn't work, couldnt feel the bottom for the life of me jiggin, along with snagging anything and everything. if there was a grain of sand sticking out of the pylon, i would snag it. only way i could feel the bottom was by snagging it, which i did way too often. i got so fed up, i decided to troll a bit. ended up with an 18" fatty. off the water by 3pm.

Today i woke up to some serious fog in annapolis and new it would be perfect for fishing. i debated fishing the creek or bay, and i'm glad i chose the bay. splashed at 10am to fog, visibility less than a mile. it was pretty eerie out there, with the bay being a pond and no one around. brought the camera today, and my fish finder mysteriously starting working. good start. jigged the pylons for a while, and did much better with feeling the bottom and not one snag, but no one wanted to play. at least the rust is wearing off. started trolling and hooked up with something really nice. my rod was completely bent over with line just peeling off and i freaking couldnt get the rod out of the holder behind me! that's how much pressure was on it. when i finally did, i let the tip come down, slack got in the line and it was gone. @#$%. continued trolling and hooked up with a little 18". a 34" and 37" quickly followed, both of which were really determined not to surface. slack tide said hello and i was off the water by 1ish.

Great catch. I never caught a big rockfish from my kayak (largest is about 23"). That must be quite a pull.

yeah i was going to say hello but i didnt want the motor to scare your fish off. i only fish in my kayak in the south river because we have a boat and its easier but i would like to fish the bridge someday from my kayak. it must be niceto be able to litterally bump the pilons
