Went to PLO with the plan to troll hard baits because of too many bite-offs of plastics. My plan was to troll North bayside along the causeway wall but birds where breaking sporadically nearby so I ran thru them I also stopped short and cast my spoon in the area with no hits. so I just trolled through them and caught my first rockfish. My next plan was to troll up to tanners creek and drift and cast minnows. I caught both my drums at the mouth of Tanners creek throwing minnows across the end of the north jetty there is a slight dropp-off. Any who here is the vid.

Hey K what had happened with the line twist (Actually a tanglement) is that I had another line out trolling when the trout hit it turned me around bringing the other line under the boat.Originally posted by kayak456 View Postvery nice, looks like you got alot of line twist on the spoon though, try a ballbearing swivel, it helps so much

scorpioreno,
Congrats on catching those great fish. I'm hoping to return to PLO next weekend and try some new spots. I looked on the map and I can't seem to find Tanners creek.<MIKE>

Mike if you are familiar with PLO when you look at the causway wall beginning as you enter the park look north and the rock jetty that you see is Tanners creek. It is extremely shallow there but it is a good ambush point for predetory fish this time of year you can see alot of birds diving in that area.Originally posted by <MIKE> View Postscorpioreno,

Scorpioreno,
Thanks for the info. I found it. I was looking for it on the Potomac side. Do you launch at the regular PLO boat ramps and paddle around the point to get there? Or do you launch on the bay side somewhere?<MIKE>

Nothing defeats line twist like a bead chain swivel- nothing, not ball bearing swivels, not double swivel- nothing beats bead chain swivels for keeping line twist at bay- I use them when I use big spinners-"Lady Luck" 2016 Red Hibiscus Hobie Outback, Lowrance Hook2-7TS

there are two launch points bayside. the first one you come to is at the end of the causeway wall it is marked by a old iron wagon wheel I launch just to the right of the first rock jetty. 2nd launch point is by the bathroom right by the last jetty on that launch you can fish the oyster bar and the fish haven and the light house.Originally posted by <MIKE> View PostScorpioreno,
