I met SurfDog and Shield at Jonas Green this morning at 6:00am. We launched and fished up river. I caught 30 fish this morning. Several pickerels up to 12 inches, a sunfish, a 15 and 14 inch rockfish, several pebbles, and the remaining were white perch. I fished near a partially submerged fallen tree and hooked up with a strong white perch. It fought like a rockfish. The force was strong with this one. When I boated him, it turned out to be a 14 inch white perch! The largest that I had ever caught from my kayak. After returning to shore, I took the perch up to Angles where they registered it as a citation. They told me that it was tied (so far) for the largest perch registered this year in Maryland. This was my first citation perch on the kayak! Do I dare say ..."SAMMMMWWIIICCHHHHH!!!" Most of my fish were caught jigging with an 1/8 ounce round jighead tipped with a 1 inch green curley tail grub.

Way to go Martin! That is a magnificent perch. I'm glad you got your citation -- who knows what that might bring you next September.John Veil
