I have been having great luck using raw chicken breast lately. As long as I don't get somenila it works great. A small peice will stay on the hook for several fish without being damaged.Jim

I tried locating the discharge on Google Maps but didn't get back anything. Thanks in advance for any help.

I have not been at the Dickerson Warm Water Discharge in about two years but was thinking about going out there again before Spring comes around. Last time I went in the winter, I caught one LMB and couple of small mouths on plastics and spinners. I prefer not to catch cats and carp but have seen people pull in some large fish in that variety using cut bait.
Question for you since you work at the plant...how often does the plant release warm water in to the Potomac? Is it an on going release or sporadic? Do you still see people out there fishing during the winter?

AmberjackYakin - You state you work @ Dickerson...you would make a heck of a lot of friends if you could give us a link, phone number or general schedule of when the plant is generating warm water...its so hit/miss i stopped going there. And yes the place is well worth the trip if they are exhausting warm water.Jackson - BIG TUNA

When we're online its constant warm water running into Potomac, best way to figure out from a distance is look at the stack if there's steam coming out there's warm water going into Potomac. Sometimes if you happen to go near end of the Olympic kayak course where warm water enters Potomac and you see water running but no steam from stack it's cold water just being recirculated. I haven't seen anybody fishing lately due to very high river levels last 2 weeks.

Hit Dickerson today...one stack was smoking...water was 42 in the a.m. by the time we left 50...2 decent smallies came from south of plant in 45 degree...several dinks -10" came from discharge, as well as a crappie, some sunnies and creek chubs. Fished from a jet drive jonboat today...dont think it would have been worth a paddle. Maybe later in the weekGOPR0059.jpgGOPR0057.jpgJackson - BIG TUNA
