I went to Pohick bay again today, and hooked up another huge fish. I must have been 15 lbs but I did not have the scale on the kayak with me. After I cut the gills and drained its blood and weighted at home. It came to 14+ lbs. I'll take it, beat my personal record 12 lbs on 6-24. I was struggling with the fish so I did not take a lot of pictures. Here is the weighted one.

Off the top of my head you should be good to go, but I believe you have to register somewhere online. It's free, but I haven't done it yet so I couldn't tell you where to go. Most tributaries are good to go as long as you aren't way way in the back. For example, I can fish Mattawoman with a VA license as long as I don't travel back beyond the bridge.Originally posted by On the fly View PostDo I need a va license or is md license excepted in Pohick Bay?

Wow, you've got 'em dialed in! Congrats on your personal best Potomac Pike!
VA and MD have license reciprocity so if you have one or the other you can fish adjoining waters. Details here:Originally posted by On the fly View PostDo I need a va license or is md license excepted in Pohick Bay?

However, you should be aware that Pohick is part of the Northern Virginia Regional Park system and launch fees are different for out of jurisdiction boaters. It'll be $9 for you, Harry.

They also list an admission fee for out of jurisdiction visitors but I don't know if/how that is collected. I've never seen anyone at the entrance gate.
