Really wish I could make it to the meet and greet as I have not made any yet and would like to learn more about fishing the OC inlet area, but unfortunately I'll be headed to the other Ocean City (NJ) for a vacation of nothing but relaxing. I fished the thoroughfare in isle of wight bay for flounder at the end of April and only caught a skate. I think at that time the Flounder just weren't there quite yet atleast not in numbers.

If anyone wants to know, there is a great little beach at the end of Selsey Rd off of Keyser Point Rd. This launchpoint is a very short paddle to the thoroughfare and dog and bitch islands. Only problem is that there is not a lot of room for parking (probably only 5-6 cars max).

If anyone is headed to fish the area any other weekends before the Meet and Greet please let me know...

I should be able to give you a ride and I get good gas mileage. Ill be stopping to stretch the legs acouple of times on the way down. Only took 2hrs 15 minutes last time i made the drive.

Fished the inlet yesterday on my center console with some friends, caught about 35 Bluefish some with good size, 2 rockfish (biggest 24 inches), some short flounder and sea robin. Fishing is great down here right now.

Count me in! I told my wife that it's set in stone, and there's nothing stopping me...unless she goes into labor 2 months early, or gets sick.

I've never fished at OC though...whether from shore or a boat. What kind of tackle should I be prepared with?

3/4 oz - 1.5 oz jig heads with gulp alive swimming mullet (white,chartreuse, pink)

Or flounder top/bottom rigs.

Fished the inlet yesterday and stayed under the 50 (gateway) bridge to be out of the sun. Where we were no boats could get near us however there was very light boat traffic. Less than there has been at the BB for the past few weeks.

Caught 6 flounder today, biggest 16.5 inches. Also caught shad, bluefish, rockfish and black seabass.

Can't wait to try my hand at some ocean city kayak fishing. I love to catch flounder. This will be my first time fishing from a yak in OC.

I found a great spot on the MD and Del line in Fenwick called the Ditch. Its just off of coastal Hwy on rt 54. Plenty of parking at the bridge and deep water for the Largest flounder I've ever caught. You may want to make the trip north for some great fishing. You will need a 4 day license for non resident I like the flounder rigs that the tackle shop has on coastal hwy on the right side of the road just over the fenwick line. I cant remember the name of the shop but he has frozen bunker as well. I think its on 145 or
146th st on coastal Hwy.

New to this forum and kayak fishing. Would love to go to a meet and greet and learn a few things. I've got pretty good experience with the inlet and surrounding waters from shore and party boat, but little small boat experience. How beginner friendly is this particular trip?

BTW, the aforementioned tackle shop is Fenwick Tackle, associated with Oyster Bay Tackle on 116th in OC. Nice people around there.
