Looks like Coop will have a good crowd, there are at least 20 kayakers signed up for it the last that I looked. Weather so far for Saturday will be the following:
            86 degrees as a high
            Winds South 9mph
            Partly Cloudy skies

The last few times that I fished that location, sometimes you can encounter some choppy waters when crossing the channel, but as you get closer to Poplar Island when you cross the channel, it gets calmer because the island provides a lot of protection.

I just checked the hour by hour forecast for Saturday and it is looking real good in the morning. Between 6am launch and 9am they are only calling for 2-4mph winds. Now all we need it to find the fish and hope they cooperate!

I hope you guys have a great time out there! Like I said before, the first time I did this M&G it was an extremely memorable experience for me, and really cemented my love of kayak fishing. I unfortunately can't attend this round, but as I mentioned Coop, I will be in touch regarding a trip over there at some point to fish with you.

You can count me in for both fishing and lunch. It's been about a year since I went out with some of you guys at Beverly Triton. I can't wait to get out there! What are good lures for perch?

Also, I'm all the way in Alexandria, VA. Is anyone camping or getting a hotel for Friday night? Attempting to make a 6:30 am launch from Northern VA is risky.

                          Greg,

Any of these 1/8 oz. lures will work:

                          Perch Lures .jpg

Perch will also attack larger lures:

The Rat-L-Trap above is 1/2 oz.

But to catch perch consistently, I have more success with the smaller lures in the first photo.

I am staying at a hotel in Easton the night before the M&G.

                            Hey guys,

Curious how long these outings last - my lower back reaches it's limit on a kayak much sooner than I would like!

Is there anything bait or lure wise that would be highly recommended? I plan on just bringing my usual jighead/paddle tails that I use on this side.
