Oh no..... Bill is coming.... I have to make sure I do not get skunked....

Hmmm... What's the maximum distance you can smell a skunk? 50 yards? Maybe if we keep that far apart, everything will be OK.

So what is the lunch plans Ryan? Did everyone decide to break for lunch and warm up at the Grill? How many will be at the Grill? What time is lunch? Mid day or late lunch so if others want to go home after 4 hours of fishing then they can leave from the Restaurant? Just curious....

I know the poll had more people leaning toward not breaking for lunch, but this was before it got cold...

So I made the executive decision and I have a reservation at Tidewater Grille at 1:00pm for 15 people, if more want to join, I'm sure we can make adjustments. Hope everyone going can join us for lunch!

I would suggest maybe making the revervations more for 2pm instead of 1pm, since launch is a 9, and if it is windy many of us will have to brave the wind to cross the water from Owens to make it to Jean Roberts park and load our yaks. So to get a good 4 hours of fishing, lunch may need to be alittle later. That way you can load your yak on your vehicle and go home after fueling your body. Also, you can always go back and fish afterwards. Do not change your plans on my account. I just did not know if a later lunch would be better.

LOL, I was actually thinking I should move it up to 12 because everyone wont be able to stand much time on the water with the conditions forecasted, but your logic probably make more sense...

We have some hardcore fishermen in MKF!

I am going to try and get there early and will probably pack up to go to the tidewater then leave after lunch. Need to go see a guy about a truck in the afternoon. From the sounds of things I may need to thaw out by then too Good Fishin

If you plan to fish after lunch, you could just paddle/peddle over to Tidewater Grille's dock and tie up the kayak to the pier...

I plan to pack everything up and drive over. I'm considering hitting another spot on te way home depending on how fishing is on the susky...

Yeah, that is kind of funny. I have seen some MKFers do some crazy things in all kind of conditions, some that i would not attempt at present....lol. You guys know who you are . I was just thinking if we got 10 to 15 launching from Jean Roberts, we will not all get on the at around 9am, also from what I can remember while paddling in some windy conditions on the Susky with Metroman.....the famous towing episode, it took us alittle while to get back to the park from Owens...I was whipped. So even in my head I am thinking say 3 hours of fishing instead, you will still need time to get back to the park, pack up, change out of waders and car pool to the restaurant or drive seperately, I think 12 would be pushing it....but I can have all of this all wrong. So you make the call and I will follow.

That was a pretty wild day. We launched and went down stream to where all of the boats were. Out of nowhere, the winds whipped up pretty good. The boaters high-tailed it to the protected waters near the island & Owens. We made it there about 15 minutes later lol.

The trek back across the open water was pretty extreme. Cold water...battery breathing its last breath...us bot paddling while in tow...me without gloves

Here are the lures I'm gonna try. I don't expect them to out-do live minnows, but I'm curious. The last 2 are gulp.
