Weather looks fine by my house. Let us know how the fishing was.... if the big ones are in. I should have gone with my guts instinct.

Weather Guessers is the only occupation that can be consistently and totally inaccurate and still be employed- It looks really nice today here in Southern Maryland- partly sunny, cool, but not cold and light winds- nothing like the great storm predicted-

It was a great day fishing. Most of us launched around 8 in some light snow. I thought it was awesome fishing from a kayak in the snow. It was just a different experience. We were all marking suspended fish but those weren't biting. We weren't sure what they were, but there were LOTS of them.

After an unproductive hour, I moved on and got into some nice keepers. A boat saw this and quickly occupied my spot and anchored up after I had drifted. I was able to find them at many locations looking for specific depths and anything out of the ordinary at those depths. Once I figured it out I had a limit in about an hour or two, moving along until I found pods of bigger fish. There were many more small fish than large and it may have been 5-10 small fish for every keeper. In all, I pulled up 40-70 fish...almost every drop became a fish. It was pretty fun.

It was nice to meet everyone and grab some lunch. And thanks again to the moderator who created such a great site for all of us to be able to do this.

Good Job Yak Fish. Now I wish I went. Did you use minnows or just little curly tails on a jighead? It is a shame that the boater wanted to muscle you out. In your opinion, is it worth making the trip up to the Susky? In other words, are the bigger ones starting to make their move, or are the fish on their way out? Depending on my work schedule, I may try to get out their between Monday and next Saturday, if you think it will be worth it to get keepers. How did everyone else do?

Pretty awesome day. The wind was a non-factor, but it was cold and we had some snow and drizzle. All my layers kept me nice and warm from 8am-2pm.

Thanks to Yak Fish who showed us a fishy spot, I was able to pull in about 20 YP (4 keepers). My first YP ever. And my first February fish ever. Once I realized that what I was feeling were nibbles and not rocks ( ) it became easier to catch fish. I caught most of them on a gulp minnow, but also a few on a shad dart, and a donated live minnow (thanks!) Can't wait to go back.

Well done, guys. Excellent pictures, too. I'm sorry I missed it, too. I woke up this morning and saw that it was neither windy nor particularly cold and kicked myself. It's nice change of pace when the weather guys blow the forecast and it turns out less windy than expected.

I ended up with six keepers 9-10 inches, probably caught 35-40 fish total along with a medium sized channel cat. I also caught my first double today! Here are a few shots:

3 species for me today Ended up with 3 keepers and 30-40 fish overall. Used a 1/2 ounce spoon with a jig head 8 inches up tipped with a minnow. About 50/50 ratio of fish on the spoon or minnow. Most productive depth for me was 50-60 fow.
