Due to weather concerns, I may go on Sunday if anyone else decides to go. Sunday is predicted to be 5mph winds and 49 degrees ( 37 degrees in the morning) with partly cloudy skies. Sat is 40 degrees (26 degrees in the morning) with 19mph winds.

Martin, Minh and FRED have a point. Sunday looks like a better day from all perspectives. I'm going to do Sunday instead of Saturday...

I'll go Sat or Sun, whichever..I've caught more crappie during high tide at Occoquan. Saturdays wind isn't necessarily a bad thing, more often as the chop picks up so does the bite. I've experience good action jigging for crappie in windy conditions. The wind does have an effect on keeping a position over the bite but the wind doesn't effect jigging. Crappies are spooked easily (especially during the spawn) and having a little chop caused by the wind, helps camouflage sound, sight and aids in finessing the lure.

Ok, I will get my yak and gear ready for Sunday. I will want to get a professional crappie lessons from you Occoquan Fishermen. I guess I will get there around 9am since I usually take my time in setting up my yak.

Oh and don't over rig your kayak if your going to fish for crappie. You need to make sure you have enough clearance to fit under the docks.

The launch there is at Occoquan regional park http://www.nvrpa.org/park/occoquan/. You need a Virginia freshwater license above the 95 bridge, I think below the bridge Maryland tidal licenses are reciprocal.

Correct, the freshwater fall line is the 95 bridge so fresh water above and tidal below the bridge.
