My main objective for 2014 is to fish as often as possible without stressing my muscles and joints the way I did in 2013. I also look forward to learning the intricacies of fishing from my new pedal-powered Slayer Propel, which is scheduled for delivery this week.

i enjoyed 2013 a lot. mostly, i want to do that again - concentrate on the fun parts and not unduly stress about my personal fish goals so to speak. i would like to expand to include some NJ fluke fishing, maybe NC redfish. i would like to catch a tuna. not necessarily from a yak, but that would be cool. if anyone has any clue how that might be done, let me know
Fish more work less and get the rest of my freinds in a kayak, 3 down many more to go.
citation white perch in stoney creek caught them every where else but not my home water

The only time I've ever caught tuna it was Yellow Fin. We were fishing in the Gulf Stream off a charter out of Oregon Inlet, Nags Head, North Carolina. This is the Gulf Stream's closest point north of Florida. Although the exact position varies, its about a 15 to 20 mile ride out to the Gulf Stream waters.
About 20 years ago when I went, it was about $600 for the trip plus a tip for the mate. We divided the cost 6 ways. Everyone caught a 50lb tuna plus a few dolphinfish.
Now its more like $1700 plus tip.... so you're looking at about $325 per person... provided you can find 5 friends who want to go with you.
Damn fine experience though. It can take a good 20 minutes to reel in a 50lb tuna. Something you'll remember for a long time.

1. Tuna from the Kayak (mother ship trip out of OC, got blown out twice this year)
2. Another double digit (10+) year of citations
3. 40" Catfish and Striper
4. Repeat as Angler of the Year for 2014 MAKBF Series
5. Graduate from Nursing School....This should probably be #1, but the top 4 are hard to compete with.

thanks - i think i'll at least try walk-on or look to HO next year. especially if i can combine it with other vacation plans. I'd like to have some priority to jigging/chunking if possible.
After a rocky start to this year I think next year will truly be one for the books for myself, I'm hoping at least! With my daughters due date coming soon on January 7th my main goal is to be a good father and always try to put her needs first of course, even with fishing weighing so heavily on all our minds lol bit with that said ill still get some fishing in!!
I've been thinking a lot lately on how to spend my shortened ammount of time on the water and after weighing a lot of options I've settled for a few simple goals
Paddle across the bay bridge tunnel and fish the 3rd and 4th islands. If anybody wants to join it'd be nice to have somebody along with me
Finally catch a bull red, the last three years have been plagued with injuries and skunks so it'd be nice to break the curse. Preferably behind assateague ( yeah, they are there but don't tell anybody! )
Finally finish these two trout rods I've had half built for two months
Fishing the ocean more like slobber bob said previously, the way weather has been working lately plans for a surf launch this winter have been foiled too many times
There's more of course but I don't want to be upset this time next year for not checking them off.
Oh yeah and an es poon would be a dream come true, the last four years have been hell. Literally. Nothing like paddling 6 miles to fishing grounds multiple times with a boat loaded down with three days worth of goods to get smacked in the face by brutal unforecasted winds and rain and have to pull your girlfriend home six miles or paddle back at .9mph for six hours. Fun stuff. That's oyster. Anybody thinking about it should probably seriously reconsider. I'm not gonna, but I'm not right in the head some days lol anybody else not right in the head that would like to Chase these elusive dinosaurs is more than welcome to join
I'm in for that one! I have a good lead on decent black drum and speck action back there too we can "investigate".
Oh yeah specs too?! It's funny how many kinda random guys that are older that I've asked about specs. They all say " this years been hard" and I always say " so have the past twenty!" And we both laugh then get serious and 100% if the time so far they just say sinepuxent bay and expect to not catch one hahahah time to prove em wrong!
