I've had really good luck in past years fishing farther downriver, just past the last bridge (along the stretch in front of the brick building, on other side from the launch).

We had both minnows and Gulp type artificials. The artificial lures were 1,000 times better. We rigged a sinker at the bottom and two very short droppers (1" or shorter) with the lures at 6" and 12". We dropped them and drifted from the bridge downriver. You'd see the one or two marks on the sonar, and as we drifted over holes clouds appeared.

We didn't have to jig or anything, the light action of the rods and boat rocking had them hooked up hand over fist.

We tried upriver, in the marked areas on the first post, got almost no hits and saw almost no fish on the finder.

Just a tip in case the bite is off and you want to try a different approach.

Thanks for the heads up Mmacro. I will try and recon the area before the M&G. Most of the Susquehanna perch youtube videos were created in this area.

Next week is looking very promising once we get through this snow event. Next week will be in the mid 40's with Friday in the high 50's!! I will visit the launch site later next week and if the ramp is clear, we should be good to go. Maybe a brave soul with an aluminum boat will clear a path for us Saturday. I will have a definite confirmation for everyone Thursday evening.

Thinking the perch are going to be awful hungry!!

Sounds to me like the perch population is going got explode. Might need to start buying and making perch colored lures.

ah man, they plowed all the snow right to the ramp. That may take awhile to thaw. If I have to, I'll launch from Tydings even though it's a bit of a paddle up there...probably won't be an issue with my new torqeedo
Perhaps bringing a shovel be prudent.
