Do I need a MD license or will VA do?

Right on, I know the dock is a little too high but I have seen many different types of kayaks from sit on to sit in and inflatables launch hassle free. I think with fellow kayakers there to assist it might be a good learning experience for people but I don't want to push anyone into doing anything they aren't comfortable with.

I wasn't able to make the January M&G so I missed the discussion on why people wanted to launch from Belle Haven Marina instead of under the bridge itself. Belle Haven is a mile south of the bridge with a $5.00 launch fee and we would be going against the tide both ways.

Belle Haven was suggested for anyone who felt uncomfortable with the launch at Jones Point since the kayak launch there is not very kayak friendly.

I haven't tried it yet myself. But I've seen it, and I think I'll leave the motor out of the Torque for this one.

Count me in on the March M&G Jim for both fishing and lunch. The Feb M&G on the Susky was moved to the 22nd of Feb, due to icy conditions, so you did not miss it yet.

We haven't been able to get the February M&G in yet due to the ice, but it's about time to start planning the March M&G. March 8, 2014

We will be fishing the VA side of the Wilson Bridge. We will be fishing for Blue Catfish, basic bottom rigs and fish finder rigs with 6/0 to 9/0 circle hooks and 4oz to 8oz sinkers should do you well. Good baits are raw chicken breast, chicken livers, hot dogs, cut shad, worms, eel and the list goes on and on. My personal favorite is raw chicken breast.

The floating dock at Jones Point Park is under the bridge and isn't as scary as some have made it out to be. Also, this would be a great time to learn how to launch from a dock since there will be several other kayakers around to assist. Parking and launch are free.

Let me know what you all think about where you want to launch from.

Lunch will be at Chadwicks in Old Town Alexandria at 2:00. There is a $5.00 parking lot just across the street. I think this will be safer then parking on the street with a kayak sitting on top of the car.
