I've been looking forward to this since doing it last year and it's driving me nuts waiting for the river to settle down.
We fished that section on Saturday. It was running about 2.8 feet at Point of Rocks and it had a little more color to it than I would have preferred but it was fish-able. Right now NOAA has it at 2.4 for Thursday morning. Will keep an eye on it but as of right now it does not look like a few brief thunderstorms would trash the river for the weekend.

I agree with Dave I think the river was a bit muddy but fishable last weekend and has come down even some more very fishable .The only thing that could screw us up now are widespread intense rain storms along the river . The forecast calls for t storms tommorow ,let's hope not all day and heavy. After that the forecast is great !
As for launch time first light would be great ,between 5:30 - 6:30 am that way we would all be downriver by 1:30 or 2:00 pm

I'll be there also but won't be staying for lunch. I have a pickup truck and can help move 1 other kayak.
So what's the fish catching recipe for the weekend? I always like to throw weightless senkos but I'm not familiar with that river so any tips would be kindly appreciated
Really looking forward to it since I've never fished it.

              1. weightless stick baits and flukes are usually good options at current water temperatures (80 degrees or higher)
              2. 3/8 ounce spinnerbait with some chartreuse in the skirt
              3. tubes
              4. one guy did well with a Rapala DT4 Crankbait this past Saturday

My Son and I are tentative right now for Saturday. If we do make it we probably can't make lunch as we must get back for Colt Ford / Toby Keith concert that evening! Hopefully the fish will like my line as much as they did last week.

Everyone should try to be on the water by first light because by noon or so the fishing bite will probably be over .
Fish current seams and edges ,rock protrusions and ledges .
There is a ledge that runs from halfway down from Brunswick almost to Point of Rocks on the Maryland side of the river ,stick to the Maryland side in my experience.
As Dave said fish craws, sticks and a favorite of mine ,tubes in green or white . If all else fails stick with the tube ,for us that has been most consistent.

Are we picking items to bring for lunch? I don't plan on Camping with this weather recently.

I also have a trailer that can haul at least 4 kayaks. Seating in the small truck is more limited.

                            Guys,
I was really hoping to meet everyone this weekend but now I can't join in the fun. I had a deviated septum repair last week and the doc says I need another week before I can get real active again. I hope you all have tight lines and a great lunch following. Hopefully another UP meet and greet wll be this summer.

How early is anyone planning to be on the water. I need to get an early start if I come. I have to get off the water by noon or so to attend a wedding later in the day. I would like to start fishing at 6:00AM or so. Is anyone going early and wouldn;t mind giving me a shuttle to Brunswick from POR or Lander?

Otherwise, I'll just pass on this trip and go out early at Swainslock
