Great fishing with y'all again.
Let me add to the thread with my report.
Launched out of Dundalk at sunrise, water is very dirty...stained would be an understatement.
Got out to the tugboat channel and headed to toward the main shipping channel, then it was game on. I only pull jigs with paddle tails, so those of you you that like to spend big $$$ on fancy hard baits...keep on supporting that industry. It was beautiful weather for December, flat water, fair skies and following seas. LOL Honestly I have no idea what the tide was doing, I couldn't see any water moving as I trolled around.
1/2 oz Ken Jig Big Eye (glo chartreuse) with a Zman DieZel MinnowZ (4" paddle tail) in Pearl Blue Glimmer.
Fish were also caught on Alabama Rigs, with PBG teasers and Opening Night tails...the only tails I use are Zman, they have great action.
Ken Kayak (he makes the big eye jigs)
DKim73 maiden voyage with his 2016 Outback
I caught quite a few fish today, ten* that were over 20". My best day so far for legal rock.
First keeper at 24"
Next 22.5":
Fat 23"
Little 21"
Best of the day, second best Rock for me in this adventure:
*figured five pictures was enough variety. Total fish including shorts (18-19.5") for me was around 20. If I'm lying, please speak up.Last edited by Cowpokey; 12-13-2015, 07:22 PM.Hobie fleet:

I tried to convince them (over the radio) to let Ken get the hook out, he has pliers and isn't afraid to use them...
If it should happen again, I'm going to push the hook through, put up with a second puncture wound in order to gain access and cut off the barb with the wire snips rather than put up with the tearing the barb makes on its way out.
BTW, I keep the first aid kit in my rear hatch inside one of Hobie's drop-in containers. The container keeps the contents dry, and having it in the rear hatch means I have it with me, but not taking up crucial space meant for tackle and other gear.-manny
