Hope to see everyone there on the water and to hear their experiences at lunch. What time is everyone meeting up at the ramp Saturday morning? I am toying with the idea of getting a hotel room for Saturday night to I can fish after lunch and maybe Sunday morning. Do anyone have any recommended hotel/motel I can contact for rooms near the Rumbley area?

How is the crabbing at Rumbley? I may bring a few crab traps to play with.

I'll probably get there around 6:15 - 6:30 and hang out for a little while since I'm the host. I'm plan to be paddling off and fishing by 7 at the latest.

I don't have any recommendations on places to stay because I've never stayed at any in the area, but, like surfdog suggested, search Princess Anne or Pocomoke. Crisfield also has 2 smaller motels. All are about equal distance to the launch.

If you leave early in the morning from Baltimore, you will be in Salisbury in about 2 hours. Rumbley is an additional 30-40 minutes south of Salisbury.

I was thinking of leaving the wawa at 0330. Too dark 30;-)

Grass scrappers , they messed up the water last year when we came there. I thought the grass was sacred in the bay but these guys come along and really F-- it up!

Thank for the advice on the cities to check for a hotel If the weather is good, then I am planning on staying the night on Saturday to fish and crab the evening and maybe fish the morning on my way out.

Surf, I will try to be at the Wawa just after 3am, so we can leave at 3:30am or earlier. I know Surf said that we will make a pit stop in Cambridge at the Royal Farms, so if anyone else wants to caravan down, then meet us at the Royal Farms. I am not sure of the time that we will be at the Royal Farm. Maybe 4:15-4:30am?

Is anyone else hanging out Saturday night at a hotel or campsite?

I just checked the weather report and it seems to be a good weekend to fish at the rain during the week. Temps around 78-80 degrees. Winds on Sat is 10mph going down to 4 mph in the afternoon. Sunday is similar with 7mph winds all day. At least that is how it looks as of today. This might be a opportunity to fish Rumbley in the morning and maybe a spot like Janes Island in the afternoon?

Hope you didn't jinx us there - I'm seeing the winds bump up a little for Saturday

I did go out last night briefly, a little too windy and the threat of storms limited my time and range, but the good news was I had no issues with scrapped up grass and didn't see much floating around at all.

Ill try to unjinx us. Theyre calling for 10-15 NNW at the moment. That'll make fishing a lot tougher than it needs to be. Good news on the grass front though.

Yeah I am seeing the same thing. Winds in the morning up to 14mph and improving in the afternoon. Sunday looks good at 7mph. But we never know for sure until the day before and sometimes not until we get there. I found a hotel/motel for Saturday night at

                              Americas Best Value Inn
30359 Mt Vernon Rd, Princess Anne, MD, United States
                              (410) 651-4075

                              $79.99 Sat, Non Smoking

You have until 2pm Friday to cancel. Now I can fish Sunday morning.

Won't be making the meet and you guys who live around there probably don't think twice about it but driving home from an unsuccessful cobia trip in VA beach last weekend we stopped at Old Mill crabhouse in Salisbury. It was awesome! We don't have any places like that in philly! I easily ate enough of all you can eat blue claws, hush puppies and steamed shrimp to make it worth the $40 price tag. The crabs weren't huge but they were full of meat and delicious. If the weather stinks at least you can gorge on crabs!
