There is going to be a cat fishing tournament going on in the area tomorrow. Be cautious around them they are there for the money.
My son and I are looking forward to fishing with you all tomorrow.
Mark & Mason +1
Will the launch be any more risky with SIK?

Guest repliedWill you be fishing, or are you just bring the shirts to the lunch?
I got my DC license today....sort of. Their system had a hiccup and charged me $13 for one year, but never gave me my license and it was not in the system to print. I was able to get someone who works on the website from the phone numbers provided and he was able to print my number and transaction records showing that I bought the license and that their was a problem with the DC system. So I am good to go.

I'll be bringing the rest of the long sleeve dry fit shirts tomorrow. I have mostly XLs and XXLs but there may be a large in there, just have to check. It's $25 for XL and $27 for XXL. Please bring exact change if you can!

Guest repliedThere's a boundary stone on shore about 100 yards from the waterline, It's marked on 3 sides as MD, VA and DC. Don't know if it means anything since it would give a little piece of VA to MD and DCOriginally posted by Turtle135 View PostI went ahead and got a DC license online. Below is a picture from Google Maps. My interpretation from the picture is that the area we intend to fish is in DC.

Of course I already had licenses for Maryland Tidal, Maryland Freshwater, Virginia Freshwater and West Virginia so I can fish the Potomac and the tributaries pretty much everywhere now.

It will depend on if the river is flooded, I guess.
My son might be joining me on Saturday, so I was trying to figure out if the DC license was needed for us.

You will be very close to the border. Maybe too close to argue. You're going to fish Fletcher's this spring , right?Originally posted by DanMarino View PostSo do I need a DC fishing license? I've got a MD license.
From looking at Google Maps, looks like I will likely be fishing in MD waters.

Something everyone might want to do is have some sort of bow liine. I have a very long 1/4" line tied to the front of my yak so I can tie off to the dock when getting in or out of it.

I just through them back. There is no way killing all the one I catch will put the smallest dent in their population.Originally posted by canoe515 View PostJim,
You can put me down for lunch as well. I will now show my ignorance - While i am a pessimist and usually figure on getting skunked my first time in a new location and I don't plan on eating anything in that part of the river, is throwing them back really frowned upon? I would think at this point they are rather ingrained into the ecosystem. I will need to find somthing to put them in if it is best to keep them. My boat will be on its maiden voyage so it is real barebones.
