Wind: Scoutlook Weather currently predicts the winds to be light on Saturday (from 2 to 5 miles per hour)
Air Temperature: 37 degrees in the morning rising to 53 degrees in the afternoon
River Level: NOAA predicts the river level to be slowly falling and just slightly above the median discharge for this time of year

We would probably like the water to warm up some but that does not appear to be in the cards for this weekend.

3 chicken breast will last me a long day most of the time. I use chunks about 2" square or strips 3/4" by 3 or 4" long. Some days they steal the bait more then others.

    6/0 hooks should be fine.

As far as high water, that part of the river is very wide. The current can flow somewhat fast but nothing crazy. Several walls and pylings to hide behind until slack tide or to get out of the wind.

Sounds like I need to get some heavy sinkers. I assume you need 4 to 8 ounce to hold bottom in that area? Also, I assume you anchor up, how deep is the area you are dropping anchor?

Looking forward to it! Have never caught a blue cat intentionally. Have just had a few inhale a lure intended for a largemouth.
I use 4oz and 8oz depending on how the current is running.

As far as anchoring, I don't personaly do to the amount of debri left over from the building of the new bridges. Lots of snaggs. The water is on average 30'

Do we want to do a Bucket Of Lures at lunch?

Just bring a lure of your choosing, we will toss them in a bucket and pick a name out of a hat. Winner take all or we can do a small bucket and a big bucket.

River might actually be fishable. Little Falls gauge is at 4.7 which is below warning level.

Looks like 50's this weekend... hopefully it'll hold up.

Also, I went to the korean Mart yesterday and noticed they had large shad (about 15-20" in length). If any of you want me to buy you some for the meet let me know and I'll buy it for you guys on friday night and bring it to the meet. You can just pay me at the meet. It was priced at 99 cents a pound. I can email you or forward you the price after I buy it on friday so you can bring cash to the meet. Let me know here or PM me.

I am planning on being at Jones Point Park by 7:00, they open at 6:30 but run late some times.

I figure we can get to Chadwick's for lunch right around 1:30, it is only a five minute drive from the launch.
