Glad he's ready for more. That's tough place for a hook, especially a treble. I would have been reaching for the Natty Boh...I had one or two of those on board yesterday.

Glad he's OK! You should have taken the picture when I was straddling his kayak with my legs while taking the treble off the lure! That must have been quite a sight! Haha

Hey Manny, what kind of wire cutters do you use? Some of those hooks are really strong

I have some small, Craftsman-brand wire cutters; basically the biggest ones I had that would still fit inside a Hobie drop-in container. These will not cut through some of the ocean-caliber tackle DKim73 is referring to, but they will do in a pinch (pun intended) for some of the smaller VMC trebles we use in the Bay.

Yeah, we had pretty great weather that day, all day.

I only had to do this twice. I once buried the hook of a tony in the back of my head. You put a length of string or fishing line around the bend of the hook, push down on the shank of the hook and give the string a yank. The hook comes right out.
